The closest airport with good international connections is Boston Logan International Airport (BOS). It is also possible to fly into Providence/TF Green International Airport (PVD) from some international locations.

The best way to travel between the airports and Woods Hole/Falmouth is via the Peter Pan Bus lines (see www.peterpanbus.com or 888-751-8800). The fare is US$47 for the round-trip between Logan Airport and Woods Hole/Falmouth. The cost is US$62 round-trip between Providence/T.F. Green Airport and Falmouth and US$63 between Providence/TF Green Airport and Woods Hole. (In case you want to fly to Providence, Rhode Island (T.F. Green Airport) instead of Boston, the same bus service provides service to Woods Hole and Falmouth. There are only 5 buses per day from Providence, however, compared to 11 buses per day from Boston.) The bus drops off Falmouth passengers at the Bonanza Bus Terminal on Depot Avenue (not far from the Inn on the Square at Falmouth) and drops off Woods Hole passengers at the Steamship Authority (not far from the Sands of Time and Sleepy Hollow Motor Inns).

Bus Stops at Logan Airport: Buses to Falmouth and Woods Hole can be picked up in the Arrivals areas (outside baggage claim) of Terminals A, B, C, and E. Tickets can be purchased in advance online at the Web site www.peterpanbus.com or purchased (cash only) from the bus driver.

Woods Hole Steamship Authority to Sands of Time and Sleepy Hollow Motor Hotels: Start out going NORTH on LUSCOMBE AVE toward RAILROAD AVE. Turn RIGHT onto RAILROAD AVE and cross the street. RAILROAD AVE becomes WOODS HOLE RD. Continue on Woods Hole Rd to #549 Woods Hole Rd. for the Sands of Time Motor Inn or #527 Woods Hole Rd. for the Sleepy Hollow Motor Inn. Both are on the left-hand side of the road, with the Sleepy Hollow being located beyond the Sands of Time. The distance is about 1/3 mile.

Woods Hole Steamship Authority to Swope Center: Start out going NORTH on LUSCOMBE AVE toward RAILROAD AVE. Turn RIGHT onto RAILROAD AVE. Turn SHARP LEFT onto WATER ST. Go over the drawbridge, and take a right onto MBL Street. The Swope Center is located directly in front of you. It is a two-story cement building with very large windows. The housing office is directly inside the front door of the Swope Center and you need to check in here.

Bonanza Bus Terminal to Inn on the Square: Take DEPOT AVE toward N MAIN ST. Turn LEFT onto N MAIN ST and stay on left side of street. The Inn on the Square is located at 40. N. Main St., about .15 miles from the bus station.

Cars can be rented at both airports. Parking in Woods Hole is limited and we are encouraging participants not to rent cars until they absolutely need to.

Bus Transportation Among Meeting Locations

SCOR has arranged bus transportation among the hotels and meeting sites for the SCOR 50th Anniversary Symposium and SCOR General Meeting. This will make it possible for participants to take buses from the airports and avoid parking problems in Woods Hole during the days of the symposium. Parking spaces are less limited at WHOI's Quisset campus, but it would be helpful to know in advance who will need parking passes for the lot there. Please contact Ed Urban about this.
