Transportation Between Airport and Hotel

Bus

The best way to get into center of Bergen is by the frequent bus service, on the SAS bus, which goes to the SAS Royal Hotel at Bryggen (last stop), via Radisson SAS Hotel Norge and the bus station (platform 17).  The trip should take about 25 minutes at off-peak hours and up to 45 minutes at peak hours.

Prices 2007
Adults NOK 75 (about US$13) each way

Departures
Monday to Friday: From the airport every 15th minute between 8am and 8:30pm. Departures earlier or after this, as soon as possible after arrival, all via Nesttun to center of Bergen.
Saturday: as soon as possible after arrival, all via Nesttun to center of Bergen.
Sunday: departure from airport every 15th minute between 2:30pm to 8:30pm. Departures earlier or after this, as soon as possible after arrival, all via Nesttun to center of Bergen.

Taxis

Taxis are more expensive than the bus, of course, and there is little need to use taxis from the airport, since the bus stops at the meeting hotel.  However, if meeting participants need to take a taxi from or to the airport, they are metered and the drivers generally speak English.  The taxi price is 300-400 NOK (US$52-69) (more expensive in weekends and during night). Most taxis accept credit cards, if notified at start of the journey.
